A 0.01g scale is sensitive. That's the point, but it also means small things can throw your reading off. Here's how to get the most out of the satinca Mini Digital Scale.
1. Use a flat, stable surface
Even a slight tilt or a wobbly bench can change the reading. Put the scale on a firm, level surface away from fans, open windows and air vents.
2. Give it a moment after switching on
Let the display settle at zero before you place anything on it.
3. Use the tare function
Weighing something in a container? Put the empty container on first, press tare to zero it out, then add your item. You'll get the weight of the contents only.
4. Stay within capacity
The satinca Mini Digital Scale weighs up to 100g, with a minimum of 0.05g. It has overload protection, but staying in range keeps it accurate for longer.
5. Pick the right unit
Switch between grams, ounces, carats and taels depending on what you're measuring.
6. Keep the batteries fresh
Low batteries are a common cause of drifting readings. The scale runs on 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries and switches itself off after 60 seconds of inactivity to save power.
7. Store it carefully
Keep the scale clean, dry and free of anything resting on the platform when you're not using it. At 8 x 6 x 2cm, it fits easily in a drawer or bag.
